S. M. Tatsuguchi & Associates was established by Samson M. Tatsuguchi, in 1972 as a bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation company. Insurance brokerage and real estate brokerage would later be added as services to his clients. During the late 1970's and throughout the 1980's his three sons (Greg, Ken, and Reid) would assist Samson with his business; mainly handling bookkeeping, payroll, and preparing taxes.

On October 12, 2000, Samson Tatsuguchi passed away at age 63. His eldest son Greg M. Tatsuguchi decided to quit his property management position and takeover S.M. Tatsuguchi & Associates and continued the bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation and real estate services.

November 2001, Pure Management was established as the real estate division of S.M. Tatsuguchi & Associates. Pure Management currently handles all real estate business, (property management and real estate sales) for S. M. Tatsuguchi & Associates.

February 2008, S. M. Tatsuguchi & Associates has added to it's services; Information Technology, "IT". S. M. Tatsuguchi & Associates currently handles general consulting, to hardware installs, to the development of websites and web applications.

Under Greg M. Tatsuguchi, S.M. Tatsuguchi & Associates has increased in size from two part-time employees to currently six full-time and one part-time employee.

Greg M. Tatsuguchi formed Island Temporary Nursing in November 2005, as a healthcare employment agency. Island Temporary Nursing handles staffing needs for facilities and private individuals.
